"Completed" is the label people misread
Status labels are not a numbered scale, and the same word can mean different things on two operators. What follows is the set of meanings they most commonly carry — and, in each case, the way to confirm it from your own side.

Why the jump to "completed" feels like a bug
A dashboard can only label what the operator's own systems know. At the moment of sending, the operator's part is genuinely over, so the label flips to something that sounds finished — while the part that matters to you, crediting, has not started. Two genuinely different things are being tracked by one word. Once you know that, the useful question changes from "why is it stuck?" to "which system is holding it now?", and that question has an answer you can verify without asking anyone.
The reverse case matters too: a status that never leaves "pending" for a long stretch is the one worth chasing, because it means the request has not entered the operator's process. That is precisely when a reference and a specific question are worth most.
